One of the biggest worries for Ocean Rowers is also the cheekiest..! But this week has seen three companies step up to the challenge of helping to provide comfort on the high seas for Rachel and Lin...

Kakadu Golf Gloves (below) are made from Kangaroo Skin and tried and tested by solo rower, Roz Savage. Thinner and more comfortable than sailing gloves, Kakadu gloves work exceptionally well in wet contitions and are made to measure.  As soon as they found out that Lin and Rachel were rowing for Breast Cancer Care, Kakadu jumped at the chance to help out and are providing 3 pairs for each rower in white leather. {mosimage}

Meanwhile, at the other end of the scale (literally!), the team know from their 24 hour indoor row that bottoms are perhaps more fragile than first thought! There are a number of theories about the best kinds of seat coverings, but the team are going to work with a combination of coverings as well as normal rubber rowing cushions and a good supply of memory foam.

Easirider (below) make sheepskin covers for cars and motorbikes, but having had experience of rowing seat covers in the last race (supporting Rowgirls), decided that they would love to help our our team as they are rowing for charity. The rowers will take 2 covers each, made to measure for the rowing seats they are using onboard. {mosimage}

But underneath it all will be yet another layer. US company Yakpads (below left and right) responded brilliantly to a general enquiry with a parcel of boating seat covers, not often seen this side of the Atlantic. With two designs supplied for each rower, the team are likely to be spoilt for choice as they coax their butts across the pond!  {mosimage}{mosimage}
