The big news this month is the launch of the new website. It's been designed by the team at Room 58 in Cheltenham and is built on a system that allows the rowers to update it themselves remotely.

Room 58 have done a brilliant job and we're sure that the site will be a key part of hte fundraising and wider campaign.

Since the last newsletter, our team has split their time between training and planning fundraising events for the rest of the year. As you'll see from the link, the 'dates for your diary' section is filling up fast - good news for the money generating campaign.

Bot Lin and Rachel have upped their training levels and have set a new goal of completing a 24 hour row during Easter weekend - exciting, but also a little daunting! At the moment it's mostly indoor training and they are using a mixture of rowing machine work, utilising shorter more intense sessions, together with some longer periods.

They are both using their MBT shoes regualarly now and certainly feeling the effects! Hopefully this training regime, combined with making full use of their nutritionists and physio's advice, will help them to make the start line in the best possible shape and stay healthy through a thoroughly demanding year.

Image Rachel also spent a fascinating afternoon with Liverpool Coastguard. Both rowers have attained their VHF shortwave radio licences, but practice is difficult. So the course tutor suggested contacting the local Coastguard. Colin Brown's B Watch in Liverpool were the unlucky souls who took on Rachel for the afternoon and provided a great insight into how it all works around the globe. Although they still think the two women are pretty mad, they'll be watching and encouraging every step of the way as the challenge takes shape.
