In December 2007 they will start in La Gomera finally ending across the water in Antigua.

The women launched the Atlantic Rowing Challenge campaign at the Southampton Boat Show last year, with the aim of raising £100,000 for Breast Cancer Care. Fundraising ove rhte past year has gone well and enough money has been raised to pay the deposit for their boat.

Boat Quays has made a generous donation, valued at £4,000. They have offered the team free use of their Boat Haul service for any UK movements. This service will be invaluable to Lin and Rachel as they need to get to a variety of fundraising events. This service alone will be worth around £3,000. The remaining money will be usedfor essential itme for the challenge, including the rowlocks and padded seat covers, to ensure the women are as comfortable as possible whilst they push themselves physically and mentally to the limit.

Rachel and Lin have both completed all the necessary courses so they have the skills to complete a successful race. All they need now is support in the form of donations and goods in kind to reach the financial targets and donate the much needed money to Breast Cancer Care.
