It’s Christmas Day and what a different kind of Christmas this has been!
We hope that you’re all having a wonderful Christmas wherever you are and thank you for the lovely messages both for Christmas and my birthday yesterday! ![]() ![]() The conditions have been very testing in the last few days, with huge seas and very strong winds – thankfully in the right direction, but meaning that we regularly get wet by waves coming onboard and the nights are really exhausting as we try to keep the boat on line in the dark. Today has been no exception – the only consolation is the good mileage that we’re clocking up! So, it’s been a very different kind of Christmas, and to celebrate, we’ve come up with the Ocean Rowing Edition of 12 Days of Christmas. Now you don’t have to join in, but we’d really like it if you did. Ladies and Gentlemen, are you ready… On the first day of Christmas my true love sent to me – A pink rowing boat on the sea. On the second day of Christmas my true love sent to me – Two rowing girls. On the third day of Christmas my true love sent to me – Three big ships. On the fourth day of Christmas my true love sent to me – Four shooting stars. On the fifth day of Christmas my true love sent to me – Five Dolphins (come on now, belt it out and let the neighbours know you’re having fun!!!) On the sixth day of Christmas my true love sent to me – Six Fearne and Reggie’s. On the seventh day of Christmas my true love sent to me – Seven waves a breaking. On the eighth day of Christmas my true love sent to me – Eight knot winds blowing. On the ninth day of Christmas my true love sent to me – Nine wipes a wiping. On the tenth day of Christmas my true love sent to me – Ten fish a flying (except when they land on the boat!) On the eleventh day of Christmas my true love sent to me – Eleven sat phone messages. On the twelfth day of Christmas my true love sent to me – Twelve mile horizons. We hope you like it and keep following our progress over the holiday period. Morale is high and despite the challenges we’re looking forward to hitting the trade winds and heading even further West. Merry Christmas!
