Anchored at sea! Print E-mail

Well, we’ve now been on sea anchor for over 24 hours and just can’t wait to get going again

Being on sea anchor is just plain boring and uncomfortable. Barbara Ivy hates being tethered up and rocks around violently – not making for a comfortable break when we’re both cooped up in the cabin together!

But we did have a bit of excitement yesterday just before we put out the anchor. We spotted a big brown splodge in the water – that turned out to be a huge turtle. He came over to meet us and spent a bit of time checking out the boat with his posse of little stripy fish! We know some turtles are endangered – though we’ve no idea what kind this was – but how fantastic to see one so close up. Following the Fearne and Reggie theme, we called the turtle Treacle (as in All right Treacle – Scott Mills on Radio 1) and if our technology goes according to plan, you should be able to see a pic of him sometime soon.

Last night we settled down in a huge rainstorm – Lin got soaked cooking tea outside, then we listened to a comedy gig on the iPod. Tonight might have to be a dose of Black Adder to keep us entertained. We’ve also spoken to Atlantic Jack briefly, and to JayDubYoo on the phone – they’re all well and stuck on anchor just like us.  Anyway, nothing more to report really – the waves and wind are still going SE when we want to go W or SW. Here’s hoping it will change overnight.

Love and hugsLin & Rachel
