This will be the last blog from the boat as the next will be on dry land! How good does that sound after the emotional rollercoaster of the last 76 days. |

Yesterday was a great day, hot and sunny, calmer seas and we’d drifted North in the night so we could row West with the wind and the waves for a change. This almost felt strange but it meant we made great progress and passed the 100 nautical miles to go mark. |

To all you lucky ladies out there getting your Valentines flowers, chocolates, lovely lingerie and a nice meal out tonight, think of us stuck in our little pink boat so far away from our partners, Paul & Charles. We miss them so much but having now missed Christmas, New Year, Our Birthdays and Valentines Day, we can’t wait to get back home to spend some valuable time with them. |

Since we’ve been out here on our epic adventure, we have acquired a number of supporters and it seems quite a few will be in Antigua when we get there. |

We realise that some of you may be getting a bit worried that our position isn’t being updated on the Woodvale website. Don’t worry we haven’t slipped into the Bermuda Triangle or anything like that. When we were in La Gomera, the race organizers fitted an ARGOS tracking beacon that is supposed to send our position every hour but to be honest, we’ve had problems with it right from the start and have now changed the fuses 3 times and it seems to have gone again. After we send this blog we are going to have to remove the unit from under the gunnel and reposition it on the top of the gunnel and then communicate back to Race HQ the information that we get relating to the LED’s on the unit! Of course this could be a really easy job but anything like that out here is a nightmare because of the rolling waves. Hopefully we’ll get it working again but incase we don’t, we’ll post our nautical miles to go to the finish from our own GPS – this should be fairly accurate as it’s calculating how far we have to go to our next waypoint, which happens to be the finish line! |
