Since our last blog we’ve been making great headway, but it hasn’t all been straightforward. We’re still experiencing big seas, but with a following (ish) wind, we’re keeping our sights set on Antigua and figuring out how to make a finish line that’s just a n/mile long! But we’re also seeing the degrees West move along at a pleasing rate – normally the second half of the race distance is completed in a shorter time than the first half. We’re certainly hoping for that as we can’t wait to see our families and partners again soon. |

Just a very brief blog today to tell you all that we’re so excited today and have cause to celebrate again. A quick text message to Tony at HQ gave us the confirmation that at 09:00hrs this morning we had rowed 1,286 n/miles from the start and have 1,284 n/miles left to get to the finish. |

It seems to us that one day just rolls into the next and we just continue to row along on our 2 hour shifts. The weather is continuing to be good to us and looks set to stay that way for the next 3 days. Brilliant hot sunshine during the day meaning we even got our batteries up to 13v today – of course that meant the water maker went straight on and we started to charge up a few things – walkman and video camera to start with. The waves are still a bit choppy making rowing quite difficult but we keep on going and if it gets too bouncy, we just steer the boat and let the waves carry us along – preserving our energy for when we must row. |

With a few sunny days behind us, can you imagine the excitement when we not only made 20 litres of drinking water but also had enough to wash some clothes! |
